Please join the UIC Department of History for the 2021 Gilbert Osofsky Memorial Lecture, our end-of-year celebration where we cheer our accomplishments, give our awards, and listen to a dynamic speaker. This year's speaker will be Françoise N. Hamlin, Associate Professor of History and Africana Studies at Brown University. Her talk is entitled "History Matters: Reconciling Black Trauma."

We will also give the Shirley Bill Teaching Award to one of our faculty members, announce the winners of several of our graduate awards, and give the Gordon Lee Goodman Award and Lillian Edinger Scholarship to our distinguished undergraduate History majors.
