Robert Johnston Receives Roger D. Bridges Distinguished Service Award
Professor Robert Johnston has been awarded the Roger D. Bridges Distinguished Service Award for Exemplary Service for the Society for Historians of the Gilded Age and Progressive Era. The SHGAPE Executive Committee unanimously named Johnston as one of two 2019 recipients of the award., which recognizes Johnston’s many years of service to SHGAPE, including his service as co-editor of The Journal of the Gilded Age and Progressive Era. The prize will be announced at the annual conference of SHGAPE on Friday, April 5, 2019, in conjunction with the OAH conference in Philadelphia. It would be my pleasure to honor you in person if you will be attending the Organization of American Historians meeting.
According to SHGAPE president Albert S. Broussard, SHGAPE has benefitted tremendously from Johnston’s “talent and service.”
